This Privacy Policy explains how Kampong Tech Sdn Bhd (Company No. 202501039135) ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use Prektis.com, an educational web and mobile application operated in Malaysia.

By accessing or using Prektis.com, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve Prektis.com. The data we collect includes:

a. Authentication Information (Account Holder)

Prektis.com accounts are created and used by parents or legal guardians ("Account Holders"), not by children directly. We support three sign-in methods:

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Google — available on web and the native iOS app
Apple — available on the native iOS app only

When you sign in via either SSO provider, we may receive limited information such as:

Your name
Email address
Profile photo (if available — Google only; Apple may provide a relay email address)

We do not collect your password or sensitive authentication data from the SSO provider.

Email (One-Time Code)

Available on both web and the native iOS app
You provide your personal or work email address; we send a one-time verification code to authenticate you
No password is ever created or stored
We collect only your email address through this method

b. Child Profile Information

Prektis.com's learning content is designed for children in Malaysian primary and secondary education (roughly ages 4–16). Children do not create their own account or sign in independently. Instead, the Account Holder (a parent or legal guardian) creates and manages a profile for each child directly from their own account. When you add a child's profile, we collect:

The child's name
The child's date of birth (used only to determine the correct starting skill level for adaptive learning)
The child's photo, if you choose to upload one (optional)

By creating a child's profile, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent, on the child's behalf, to this collection for the sole purpose of providing the Service to that child. See Section 8 (Children's Privacy) for more detail.

c. Subscription and Payment Information

When you subscribe to Prektis.com:

On the web and via Stripe, payments are securely processed by Stripe, which may collect your payment card details, billing address, and related information as required to process transactions.
On the native iOS app, purchases are processed by Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat, which receives your App Store transaction and subscription status to keep your access in sync across devices.

We do not store or have access to your full payment card information in either case.

d. Learning and Usage Data

As you use the Service, we collect and store:

Adaptive-learning progress and skill state for each child profile (e.g., which topics have been mastered)
Worksheets, questions, and answers generated for or by a child profile
Images or files you upload for AI-assisted worksheet generation or grading
A device push-notification token (if you enable notifications), used only to send you notifications about your own account

e. Technical and Usage Data

We may collect limited technical and usage information such as:

Device type, browser type, and version
Access times and pages visited
General location (country or region only)

This data helps us improve performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

To authenticate your account and provide access to the Service.
To create and manage child profiles you add, and to place each child at the correct adaptive-learning starting level.
To manage subscriptions and payments through Stripe and RevenueCat.
To improve our AI-powered educational content and app features.
To respond to support requests or feedback.
To comply with legal obligations under Malaysian law.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data (or your child's data) with any third party for marketing purposes.

3. AI-Generated Content and Data Usage

All educational content on Prektis.com is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI). While AI may process general prompts or anonymized data to produce content, no personally identifiable information (PII) is used to train, modify, or personalize the AI model.

Users should understand that:

AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies or omissions.
Prektis.com is intended only as a supplementary learning tool.
We are not responsible for any misinformation or educational consequences arising from AI-generated materials.

Always verify learning materials through textbooks or qualified teachers.

4. Data Disclosure

Your personal data (and, where applicable, your child's profile data) is disclosed only to Kampong Tech Sdn Bhd and the following trusted service providers, solely as needed to operate the platform:

Clerk — authentication and account/session management
Google Firebase / Google Cloud — database, file storage, and push-notification infrastructure
Stripe — web subscription payment processing
RevenueCat and Apple App Store — native iOS subscription management

We may also disclose information if:

Required by law, court order, or governmental request.
Needed to protect our rights, property, or users' safety.

We do not transfer your personal data outside Malaysia unless necessary for service operation (for example, when Stripe, Google, Apple, or Firebase servers are located overseas). Such transfers are made with adequate protection measures.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data, and any child profile data you have added, only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. If you delete your account or a child's profile, or cancel your subscription, we will remove or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data (and your child's data) against:

Unauthorized access
Alteration or disclosure
Accidental loss or destruction

All payments are processed securely through Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant system or Apple's App Store, our database and file storage are protected by Firebase security rules restricting access to each account's own data, and all user sessions are encrypted using HTTPS (SSL).

7. Your Rights

You (as the Account Holder, including on behalf of any child profiles you manage) have the right to:

Access and request a copy of your personal data or your child's profile data.
Correct or update inaccurate information.
Withdraw consent for certain uses of your data, including your child's profile data.
Request deletion of your account, any child profile, and associated data.

8. Children's Privacy

Prektis.com's learning content is designed for children in Malaysian primary and secondary education (roughly ages 4–16), and the Service is intentionally built around this: children never create their own account, log in independently, or provide their own consent.

Instead:

Every account is created and controlled by an adult parent or legal guardian, authenticated via Google, Apple, or email one-time code.
Only the Account Holder can add, edit, or remove a child's profile, and must confirm they are that child's parent or legal guardian before doing so (see Section 1(b)).
We collect a child's name, date of birth, and (optionally) photo solely to personalize that child's learning experience, and never for any purpose unrelated to providing the Service to that child.

If you are a parent or guardian and wish to review, correct, or delete your child's profile data, you may do so from within the app, or by contacting hello@prektis.com. If you believe a child has created or accessed an account without a parent or guardian's involvement, please contact us so we can promptly investigate and remove the relevant data.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also prompt existing Account Holders to re-confirm their consent the next time they use the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
